Ten thousand years ago, people began to settle down and relegate women to the hearth. Out of society, out of discourse, and out of parliaments. For the Church, after the "Fall of Man," it was easy (alongside philosophy and the natural sciences at the time) to justify and perpetuate the devaluation of women. After all, the Bible has long been a valued source of guidance.
Unfortunately, the rule of a collective masculinity based almost exclusively on violence and oppression has brought our world to various tipping points: climate collapse, wars, famines. Currently, the collapse of civilization can be observed in real time, partly due to the release of the Epstein Files and the completely out-of-control excesses of power in the world's capitalist strongholds. The oligarchies, the tech giants, and the chancellors of this world demonstrate their entanglement and mutual protection in an intolerable way on a daily basis.
Time for change and solidarity
And now what? We know that the subordination of women is neither natural nor divinely ordained; this misguided path can be changed. Culture can be changed. It is time to stand up and shape the course of history. Egalitarian and based on solidarity instead of anonymous and rigidly hierarchical. Cooperation instead of aggression.
This March 9th marks the starting point for an intersectional revolution. Let's sit down together at the table, sharing a First Supper, and talk. Let's leave paid and care work to those who benefit most from it. Let's exchange ideas and make plans.
On Monday, March 9, 2026, the Women's Strike Day, from 12:00 to 18:00, we will open the space and the table in the Galilee Church and would like to offer women, friends, and interest groups from the surrounding area, the neighborhood, and the city a place at the table. Food and drinks can be brought along.
