Description of the event:

my home is not my home is a participatory performance ritual on alienation, faith, and belonging. Amid a paradise-lost iconography of lipsticks, fairy lights and old cassette players, Madonna, Jesus and Angel appear as trash prophets. Galilee Church becomes their temporary home. They offer sinister acts of devotion, blessings for queer bodies, prayers for the outcasts, and rites of liberation and resistance.

Drawing from lived encounters with people at the margins, my home is not my home is a ballad for all those homesick for a better world. Following intimate and site-specific iterations in Berlin's underground art scene, the work traveled to the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, where Total Theater praised it as "truly radical". bambule.babys is a Berlin-based performance collective founded by Anna Valeska Pohland Michael Pöpperl in 2014. Their performances and films have been presented internationally, receiving both critical acclaim and controversy. For this special site-specificiteration at Galilee Church, they are joined by Mexican performance artist Federico Tello.
