Mikail Yakut's musical journey began in Istanbul and led him through classical accordion training and jazz studies to Berlin, where he has been developing his own musical language for many years. Shaped by the musical depth and diversity of Anatolia and the Caucasus, as well as by the openness of the Berlin scene, this has resulted in a personal approach to the accordion and its sonic possibilities.

This work focuses on the contemporary expressive possibilities of the instrument. Jazz harmonies, folk-inspired melodic structures, and experimental approaches expand the traditional sound world of the accordion. Loops, effects, and electronic textures are not used as separate elements, but rather as a natural extension of the instrument, flowing directly into composition and improvisation.

Kinto's Dance It is simultaneously a personal exploration of origin, belonging, and the stories that change across generations. Named after the figure of "Kinto" from Georgian culture, who is also the mascot of the Tbilisi Pride movement, the work moves between the familiar and the foreign, between melancholy, energy, and the freedom of the moment.

Yakut will be performing at the Berlin concert to celebrate the EP release of Kinto's Dance to present the music from the EP in an extended live format. A special guest will be... Tolga Böyük from Islandman In this process, an open musical space is created where accordion, electronics, and improvisation intertwine. The music of the EP is not simply reproduced, but given room for new developments and spontaneous encounters.
