Thomas Borgmann loves to vary his trios with Willi Kellers by regularly adding musically related bass colleagues, sometimes even expanding the ensemble. He also frequently collaborates with the young Brazilian bassist Vinicius Cajado, who has since moved from Vienna to Berlin and whose solo debut CD "Monu" was nominated for "Best of the Year 2021" by "The New York City Jazz Record." His duo with Joëlle Léandre (Storm Dance) is also noteworthy. Most recently, he was celebrated at the 2023 Berlin Jazz Festival in a trio with Zoh Amba.

In long, often flowing pieces, Borgmann, Willi Kellers, and Vinicius Cajado create music that oscillates between lyrically peaceful and ecstatic phases, between expansive and dense playing.
