Description of the event:

Doc Schoko's music emerged from the circumstances of his life, reflecting his time and environment in his songs. Initially a one-man band with occasional guests, his first LP, "einen gegen," was recorded in 1999 in his home studio in Neukölln, featuring a contemporary lo-fi electropop/indie-folk sound, and marked the first stable band lineup.

In the following years, Doc Schoko primarily appeared as a 60s-influenced beat band, touring with The Fall, the Off-colors and Jochen Distelmeyer. Initially specializing in short, minimalist post-punk/rock'n'roll pieces, their music soon increasingly shifted towards krautrock and psychedelic rock, while the lyrics remained sparse and rich in imagery.

Three more LPs will be released by 2018 with varying lineups.

With the pandemic and the "smallest party in the world," it's back to the home studio. "Sculptures for the Message in a Bottle" (2021) blends electronic music with acoustic guitars, bossa nova with dark wave. Doc Schoko is once again performing concerts as a one-man band, accompanied by electronic beats and a loop machine. Singer [name missing] helped with the album. Kristina Keller, as the only guest is Uwe Jahnke (SYPH) included.

Doc Schoko's sixth album, featuring new songs, is nearing completion. 15.5. It will be performed live for the first time. Doc Schoko (guitar, vocals, electronics) and Kristina Keller (vocals) will be supported by Martin Clausen (Saxophone) and Heiner Rosch (Lap steel guitar), who are also involved in the production of the album; and from Mario Schulte (Bass, guitar, keyboard), who will also open the evening with songs from his solo debut album "die wohnt hier nicht mehr".

The plan is for the new LP to be available digitally on May 15th, as well as a pre-order option for the vinyl version.
