Fågelle, emerging from the Nordic experimental music scene, is a wild clash of lyrical beauty and unrestrained, raw expression. Here, soundscapes full of intricate details meet radically fragile and powerful vocals.
Her solo live shows oscillate between quiet, folkloric vocal passages and almost orchestral walls of sound, interspersed with electronic glitches. Songs built around a guitar riff slowly descend into dark obscurity. Rural Gothic and urban artificial light – Fågelle moves between these poles.
On their latest album Den svenska vreden (The Swedish Fury), published by Medication Time Records (BRUIT ≤, Glassing), she explores feelings of isolation and anger in collage-like soundscapes made up of distorted field recordings, mobile memories, digital junk, dark electronics, and howling choirs, while between Harmony and Noise It fluctuates. She juxtaposes lyrical songwriting and disruptive experiments to reflect the whole in all its facets.
Den svenska vreden was recorded and produced with her long-time collaborator Henryk Lipp (Anna von Hausswolff, Millennium), with which she also released her debut album Helvetesdagar produced. The Swedish Gaffa described this as „"A thoroughly uncompromising, unfiltered, honest, courageous and masterful album"“.
Since its release in 2019, she has toured solo as well as supporting other artists. BIG|BRAVE and Esben and the Witch through Europe and played in renowned venues and at festivals such as the Roadburn, the Berghain canteen in Berlin, the Electrowerkz in London and the Petit Bain in Paris.
