The film tells the story of Charlotte, Helena, and Oskar, who reunite after a long time and go on vacation together. Charlotte is wealthy, a successful actress, and she invites Helena and Oskar, who are desperately poor. The three were formerly members of the experimental film group "Forever 16" and had a bitter falling out. During the vacation, envy and jealousy resurface and intensify when Rudolph re-enters their lives. They decide—as they did before—to make an underground film: Demenzia, a man-killing serial killer, is to relentlessly murder men, all played by Rudolph.

„"The film 'Forever 16' is based on a novel by Françoise Cactus. She imagined what it would be like to be old and reunite with old friends: science fiction, grounded in individual psychology. They pick up right where they left off: 1. they make a film, and 2. they bicker! Beyond the rivalries and arguments, fundamental questions arise: how do subversion, dark humor, anti-morality, gender identities, feminism, and youthful fundamental opposition age? And how can we prevent subversion from becoming part of the mainstream and the culture of commodification? The three main characters represent different forms of failure: Charlotte commercializes herself, Helena becomes bitter about her lack of success, and Oskar resigns himself to giving up on art.".

The fictional art group in question shot Super 8 films. This inexpensive format, originally developed for home use and vacation movies, became the symbol of cultural dissent and the aesthetic of anti-commercial resistance of the era in which this dilettante-genius trio was active. The film "Forever 16" was also shot on Super 8. The protagonists' lives are characterized by the raw, grainy charm, dreamlike blurriness, and indifference of the amateur format. The revaluation of values also takes place on the periphery.„

The music in the film

The entire film is set to music by STEREO TOTAL underpinned by this. As a result, Françoise's funny and cheeky way of thinking is present – conveyed through her singing – and the sound of her voice spreads the irreverent and cheerful subversion for which her fans loved her.
