Since her early childhood, Petra Nachtmanova has been exposed to different cultures and musical styles, always searching for the connecting elements between them. Her musical paths have taken her through classical Renaissance and Baroque music, local Chinese pop idols in Ningbo, Bulgarian polyphonic choirs, Turkish bağlama music and the Persian radif tradition. As a singer and researcher of folk music and poetry, Petra Nachtmanova focuses on Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, and her work on Turkish music and the bağlama has been developing since 2010.
