TOMO KATSURADA (of Kikagaku Moyo)

Japanese artist Tomo Katsurada, currently based in Amsterdam, is best known as the founder and lead singer of the acclaimed psychedelic band Kikagaku Moyo. During his time with the band, Tomo not only composed the music, but was also responsible for the artistic direction and shaped the band's aesthetic and sound. Now, Tomo embarks on a solo journey, exploring new artistic territories by integrating his musical compositions into various visual media. His first solo album "Dream of the egg" is the beginning of an ambitious project - a long-held dream to create soundtracks for picture books. This album is the first in a series of five albums, each dedicated to a specific picture book. Tomo aims to push the boundaries of physical media by combining music with visual narratives. Tomo's unique multi-instrumental textures offer the listener a broad soundscape full of playfulness and spirituality.
