Beschreibung des Events:

Ak’chamel has built a solid reputation as a compelling stage project. Wearing nightmarish costumes and engaging in hallucinatory “rituals”, their singular sound comprising desert-scorched psychedelia, post-apocalyptic shamanism, and lo-fi ritual-folk is as unique as the physical theater of their live performances.

Authors of around fifteen cassettes, three vinyl LP’s, several cryptic VHS videos and their reels have generated millions of views. They tour frequently and have performed major festivals on both sides of the Atlantic garnering press from VICE, Consequence, The Wire, and many more.

“Ak’chamel are one of the most consistently fascinating and creative bands in the psych scene right now.” - Brainwashed
“To see Ak’chamel is to have a bizarre sensory experience. Performed in full costume, they’re about as weird as we all thought the first season of True Detective was supposed to be.” - VICE
“Throughout the years they have designed a unique sound evoking a sort of haunting, deep psychedelic folk music” - The Attic
‘Few bands are as inscrutable as the mysterious Texas trio Ak’chamel. They are known for their countless cassettes, films, and full-length records (such as the publicly and critically acclaimed ‘The Totemist’), as well as for performing their ritualistic sounds in homespun costumes with self-made instruments.’ - Le Guess Who Festival

Band 2:

Support: Maud the Moth

Maud the Moth is the solo project of Spanish-born and Scotland-based pianist, singer and songwriter Amaya López-Carromero. Maud the Moth serves as Amaya’s alter ego: a séance-like conduit through which to process personal life experiences, and in particular themes of rootlessness, identity and trauma. Stylistically, Maud the moth uses her classical training as a platform upon which her eclectic songwriting and cathartic solo live performances rest. With the usage of live looping, Amaya weaves sonic tapestries riddled with distorted or effected pianos and driven by an enigmatic and deeply moving voice.
