There is no long-standing tradition of a free jazz trio featuring accordion, bass, and drums. OBSiDiAN, however, makes you feel as if there was—building on it with great respect, infectious joy, and a love for collective music-making. Energetic and groovy passages are interwoven with deep and meditative soundscapes, constructed with the unique and eccentric sounds of Vojta Drnek’s prepared accordion, the gentle yet explosive drumming of Jan Leipnitz, and the vast expressive range of Isabel Rößler’s bass.
