Fifteen female musicians from eleven countries will gather in Berlin for three concert evenings and six artist-led workshops. The focus will be on electro-acoustic sounds, improvisation, looping, experimental performance, and new approaches to stringed instruments.
The project centers on 15 female musicians who work with instruments such as violin, viola, cello, oud, harp, qanun, bandura, double bass, hurdy-gurdy and kamancheh.
Three curated concert evenings on October 1st, 15th, and 29th in the Galiläakirche The artists present their own solo and duo performances, characterized by electronics, live looping, improvisation, effects, extended playing techniques and approaches to experimental sound structures.
The series brings together musicians from very different artistic and cultural backgrounds, allowing various musical languages to converge on one stage. Some performances are rooted in acoustic traditions, others in electronic processes or improvisation. What they all share is an approach to their own instrument as a space for experimentation and personal expression.
Instead of assigning the music to a fixed genre, the program focuses on individual artistic voices and the diverse possibilities of transforming, expanding and rethinking stringed instruments in a performance context.

Alongside the concerts, the Hybrid Practice Lab opens another part of the project: a space where musicians and artists can learn, exchange experiences, and further develop both their creative and professional practices. The workshops will take place from October 3–24, 2026, at the Bardo Project Space (Jessnerstraße 33, 10245 Berlin).
