Tomoyoshi Date & Sorana / Midori Hirano / Stijn Hüwels & Tomoyoshi Date

Tomoyoshi Date and Stijn Hüwels will reunite in Berlin for a two-day residency. After meeting in Tokyo in 2015 and collaborating on the albums Hochu-Ekki-Tou (2019) and Tōki hi, Tōki kumo (2021), they will meet again for the first time in nine years.

The residency will feature a studio session on November 14th and a concert on November 15th.

Tomoyoshi Date is recognized for his acoustic and organic sounds with digital processing, while Stijn Hüwels creates minimalist music using processed guitar and field recordings.

The concert will also include Midori Hirano, a Berlin-based pianist and composer who blends acoustic instrumentation with electronic sounds. Her new collaborative album with the German brothers duo Brothers Selke will be released on Thrill Jockey in January 2025.
