55 Years COUM Transmissions Tribute
55 years ago, the music and performance collective COUM Transmissions made its public debut in Hull, England. Their confrontational and uncompromising approach not only challenged British society but also launched a new musical subculture—pioneering the intersection of video, sound, performance art, and industrial music. From their beginnings as COUM Transmissions, which transformed into THROBBING GRISTLE in 1976, to their individual projects, the collective’s work embodies a total art form characterized by ongoing mutation and rebellion against norms and systems.
