PITCH SHIFTING
Pitch Shifting is an experimental audio-visual collaboration established in 2019 between musician Grgur Savic and visual artist Sanja Star. The project explores the intersection of contemporary music with live, audio-reactive visual projections—a clear representation of sound through highly abstract imagery.
Alongside a more intimate unit, primarily performing as a duo, the project expands into a larger quartet formation, exploring multidisciplinary outputs. The group challenges the limits of forward-thinking ideas—sound-to-image integration, combining acoustic instruments with generative systems that process sounds in real time, seamlessly blending diverse sonic landscapes.
A continuous journey of wave motion and alternating currents through highly abstract visual and sound, performing electro-acoustic sets in close conversation, dissolving boundaries across media and genres: musical, visual, art, animation, video, improvisation, compositions, real-time performance, analogue, digital, acoustic and electronic.
Pitch Shifting Group has performed at the 31st Zagreb Music Biennale, Audioart Festival Pula, Sound Art Festival Split, Porgy & Bess Vienna, Multiversal Festival Berlin, Kunstfabrik Schlot, PANDA Theatre among others.
